Hi there
sorry to hear about your fish loss. Its possible that a number of fish in your tank made a meal out of your missing fish. Once they feed on it, and with the warm water temps it doesnt take long to find out you have a 'missing' fish.
It also can be wedged under a decoration, plant or rock. I know that in my tank it takes awhile to locate the dead fish and right now believe it or not.. Ive been searching for a red tail rasbora ( tiny thing) that is MIA this am.
Good luck on finding it, the dead remains can foul up the water quality.

What are the water parameters? Have you checked every part of the filter, including inside the intake tube and sifted through the substrate? I think Kate's right and it's possible those 3 fish died and out of instinct, the others ate them to clean them up.
