Okay, my friend Sarah has some of my molly fry I gave to her. She called me today to say that Weenie has a gill sticking out. She said she's done research and thinks it's gill disease...

Any suggestions?

is there a way to get a pic? do you know if she's eating & swimming normal? any coloration to the gills? did this happen suddenly? what's the water chemistry, temp and tankmates/tanksize?

Okay, this is what I know.... I sent her a message asking her the rest.
This happened suddenly. The tank is a 10gal with only 4 balloon molly fry of 2-3months in the whole tank. It's been running for a few months now and everything has been fine.

I'll let you know the rest of the info when she gets back to me. However, this is what I don't know. She wants to put in some aquarium salt.. and possibly some meds. Any suggestions on that? or a yes/no? I haven't had to use any meds yet so I'm hesitant to tell other people to.. but I know you know what you're talking about. :-)

With fry, most meds are risky at best and the best bet would be treatments like vita-chem, fish protector and garlic guard or organic herbal meds like rid-fungus or 'natural' meds like melafix and pimafix or fu-ba fix.
