I am really worried about my red cap white oranda. He got like a "buble" or a "tumor" on his bottom lip, and it looks like a small balloon which makes his face looks deformed and he cant swim right (Is it a cotton mouth?). The "buble" is his own skin, its like if someone stab you with an air pump and your skin expand. Then, I noticed his skin/scales looks messed up like someone scratched it. His skin supposed to be white, but then I noticed there are some "grayish" spots on his skin. Its very hard to describe and if any of you can tell me what it is please let me know, perhaps some pics (I dont have a digital camera). PLEASE HELP, I am a newb when it comes to fish diseases!!! Please....

PS:
- The aquarium is 55gl and there are 4 small goldfishes including this one.
- I bought them last Sunday and he was fine until I noticed it this afternoon, last night he was "ok" but he stayed down in the bottom.
- I put him in a quarantine tank, but is the other 3 going to be fine?
- I changed 25% of my 55gl this afternoon.

Try to make sure the site you get to is an official site. Not just a site someone made up. Sometimes in a time of crises, you panic and that is the worst thing to do, so whatever happens stay calm

I don't know too much about the goldies, but http://thegab.org/ is a good site for goldies owners and checking the info in the diseases section there may point you to the right treatment for your Oranda.

Thanks guys, but I decided to exchange him back to Petsmart and bought a bigger one. After a day in the quarantine tank, I noticed though his "bubble" was smaller but his skin was still messed up. The dumbest thing was the Petsmart worker said that all their skin looks like that (messed up), but nah. I love the guy though, I just hope they dont kill him, and I pray for him.

Darn, I missed that lil guy so much especially after I saw his pic (borrowed my dad's camera). Is it possible to buy him back from Petsmart, a sick fish that they put in the back room?

If he's still there, I'd be surprised if they didn't sell him to you. They might not give the 15-day return policy but i'm not sure on that. Mostly petsmart at least tries at customer service (unlike the anti-customer service at the petco in my hometown). You might want to see if you could just do a reverse-exchange since 4 goldies is going to max out a 55g.
