One of my little gourami had his eyes enlarged (not poped). Because the old gourami had the same thing in one of his eyes (months ago) I thought I should treat her.
So, I used Maracyn Plus (nothing else in house last night) at a 1/4 dosage than says on bottle. The next morning (after 10 hours) the eyes, were fine.
That's fast but I wonder if the normal dosage isn't too much for a fish if 1/4 of it works so agressive ?
What do you know about this med ?

I use Maracyn Plus exlusively for treating everything from fin rot to popeye in my bettas. When Neptune had popeye, I kept him on Maracyn for
2 cycles, but I also fed him medicated pellets from Jungle Labs( " Anti Bacteria Medicated Fish Food) - for internal and external bacterial infections)"that had been softened in a bit of his tank water ( I picked out the smallest pellets and scooped just a few tsps tank H20 into a measuring cup.). I fed him
ONLY this food ( plus Daphnia) for 10 days. He ate the softened pellets off my finger, and I noticed the popeye going down within about 4 days.
Personally, I don't thing anything will work overnight - but if you saw an improvement, that is great! Myself, I wouldn't call it a cure. I use this product full strength and would go for at least one cycle - which is days 1 - 3 &5. If you have questions, their tech support is great and answers emails within 24 hours, sometimes less.
I have been singing the praises of Maracyn Plus for almost a year, since I found it so easy to dose when you have small tanks, and it doesn't cloud the water.
