Sick Danio?

I just got back from Thanksgiving break and one of my fish looks really weird! I had a friend taking care of the fish and when I came back one of the glofish seems to have a curved-ish spine? And looks skinnier than normal, I don't really know it just looks very different from before and I'm afraid he will get the other fish sick if he is sick.

i see this in glofish at my LPS, it looks like a spinal deformity, but i have no idea...wait for one of the experts to give you better advice

Yeah, I mean he seems to be swimming fine and he ate some, but he didn't look like this before??

i could be wrong, but i think that could be a sign of old age or fish TB.

how long have you had him? do you have a picture that you could post? what are the water parameters? what is his usual diet?

I just got him about a month ago. He usually eats tropical fish flakes, and I'm not sure about the water parameters. I'll try to post a picture soon.

(yellow one)

...in that picture he actually looks fairly normal, but compared to my other glofish he looks really odd. His tail curves down more and he looks like he shrunk...like his eyes are too big for his body or something.

I have a zebra danio like that -- he's the only survivor of a school of 6 that died off when my heater failed while I was away. The nitrates in the tank were very high when I got home (probably due to the decomposing bodies that I never found), so I figured it was a result of nitrate poisoning. He's survived over a month since it happened, still eats and swims fine, just looks weird.

Oh. Mine wasn't eating and was having trouble swimming due to the increasing deformity in his spine, so I just had to let him go. I think he had TB (I did some research) and I didn't want him to get the other fish sick. Thanks though!

that's too bad, sounds like he was pretty miserable, poor little guy.
