Sick Fish!! Please Help!!

We recently purchased a rainbow cichlid and kribensis, and a day after we added them to our tank (unfortunately, we do not have a quarantine tank...) our little rainbow looked like he had ICH. He looked great (although a little pale) when we brought him home, and there were no white spots at all. Our water quality is great, and I will post an updated water test results later this morning. So I found the white spots, it fit the ich description, and I got some medicine and started treatment with raised temperature and water changes. The while spots on his body and fins are now gone, and none of the other fish in the tank ever showed symptoms of ich.

Here's the strange part: he still has 1 white spot in the exact middle of each eye. Is this still ich?? All the other spots are gone. His eyes still look cloudy, and I have no idea what the small white dots are. His colors are also quite dull, but not pale. His colors are just very muddy and there is no color in his body or fins.

As far as other symptoms, he sometimes has clamped fins, but sometimes swims freely. His dorsal and pelvic fins are usually clamped, sometimes his anal, and occasionally his pectoral (one or both). He is also always "listing" and leaning side to side when stationary and swimming. If another fish comes near him, he goes into a "tail standing" position with his head high and his tail low. On the bright side, he still eats quite healthily, and is quite active while food is around.

I've tried reading multiple forums and websites for symptoms, and I can't quite find anything that pinpoints what's going on. Doe anyone have any ideas?? I really want to see our fish get better, and I'm at a loss as to what is wrong with him. Thank you so much for your help!!!!

Fish Keeper

here is the page for ich. you should kep the watert temp at atleast 85 for the next two weeks as the white spots are jsut one sign where as the actual parasite lives in the fish and is invisible to the naked eye. this link should help alot. One more thing. Kordon makes a product called "Ich Attack" it is an all natural ich med that dosent stain your water or silicone. Ive used it with great success in my 50 gallon tank.

did you keep the temp at 82-83 for 2 weeks? what med did you treat him with? my first guess is internal parasites, but it is just a guess. does he poop white/clear?
