PLEASE HELP! What is this? Ich? Worms?

My Pleco has these strange white spots and long white things on him. They just developed! Can anyone help me diagnose him and what to do? Is he going to be okay? Please help, he's my little buddy!!!

PS...he's my only fish- he lives in the tank by himself

The white spots look like ick.. bring the tank temp up to 82f deg now. The other one looks like Anchor worm , not to sure, give me a little time to research and i will get back asap. Can you prep some water ready for a waterchange?
Is he rubbing up against things in the tank?

I have water to do a change if I need to. I haven't noticed him rubbing or anything- he's acting normal, hanging on the side of the tank or bottom. I've been having trouble with his water quality ever since I've started giving him zucchini 3-4 times a week . I also have quick cure on hand...just didn't want to medicate until I knew for sure what it was...

I think it is probably anchor worm also. Sounds like Peterpiper has you covered.

It looks kind of like that, but not exactly.....mine is thicker in body, shorter and it just looks like a piece of dingy rice under his skin. He doesn't have any ulcers or redness. He's acting normal. He's hanging on the side of his tank, sometimes at the bottom, isn't thrashing or lethargic. He doesn't seem to be have labored breathing. Also I read that an anchor worm is rare and must be brought in by an infected fish added to tank, but my fella is all by himself-I don't have any other fish. Any ideas What should I do? I did a small water change last night, took out all his rocks/decor, carbon filter and added quick cure, but the spots are still there and so is the "worm"....Thanks for helping!

Have you raised the temp to 82f, you will need to maintain this for 3 weeks, for the ick/ICH/white spot. you will need to get some medication for the anchor worm from your LFS

I did raise the temp like you suggested. Am I doing the right thing with the quick cure? Do I continue using that also? Should I do a water change? Thanks again.

Good, you have the temp up to 82f, you will need to keep it at 82 for 3 weeks. I do not know this product "quick cure".
Read this for the worm. Its all i could find to treat anchor worm..
Can you get DIMLIN POWDER ?

LERNEA or ANCHOR WORM:
This parasite can be very troublesome if left unchecked, with the adults reaching 12 mm in length - it is grayish white in colour and attaches itself to the Koi by using hooks, or anchors as the name applies, boring into the skin tissue by first getting under a scale. Only the tail of the anchor worm is visible and looks like a short length of cotton. Anchor Worm needs treating quickly before a secondary infection.

Method of Eradication:-

The only known method of killing this parasite, without killing the Koi is DIMLIN POWDER which can be used safely at any water temperature and has an action of sterilizing the adult and larval stages of this parasite which insures that all eggs produced, after the application of Dimlin, will not hatch.

Method:- Dimlin Powder at the rate of 1 gram per ton of pond water. Measure out the quantity required and mix in a plastic bucket with pond water ensuring that the powder is dissolved then add to the pond in the previous manner. A second dosage may be needed to ensure that the life cycle of the Anchor Worm has been halted. After this second application the dead adults, which will still be hanging from the Koi, can be removed using tweezers but making sure that the hooks, as well as the tail of the Anchor Worm are removed and then apply a proprietary Topical dressing to prevent a secondary infection.
Try and do a water change every day until you start the treatment for the worms, then follow the directions on the medication

From the photo the worm looks like it has anchored between the scales..How long have you had him? Can you take some more photos of the worm and post them?
