Is it white spot???????

I bought 2 Silver Sharks a week ago to put into our tank with a sucking catfish. Last night we noticed that the silver sharks had tiny white spots all over them and their eyes looked all hazing ( milky). Can anyone tell me what it is?

welcome to fishlore!

It sounds like you have a case of ICH there. What you'll want to do to treat the fish is raise the tank temp. to 82F and keep it at least 82F for 2 weeks. Ich dies off in warmer water, so the temp. increase will clear ich from the tank.

It's optional, but you may also want to add a med called Ich-Attack. It's safe for all fish, even scaleless fish and won't harm the good bacteria in the tank. Here's what it looks like:

you should check this link & see if something listed matches what you're seeing there: http://www.klsnet.com/files/fishchart.htm .. it may save some time on getting them diagnosed and treated. They may have ich and that one is also developing another problem from a weakened system or have something else. They sure sound like a textbook case of ich except for the upside-down swimming, which would indicate a swim-bladder issue.

Swimbladder problems can be caused by overfeeding. Try not feeding for a couple days and see if the fish begins swimming right side up again.
