Your tank isn't cycled, spikes in nitrite, nitrate and ammonia resulted in extra stress on the fish in an already overpopulated tank and led to disease. First off, what is the temp you keep the tank at? What are your water change schedules? What is your filtration? If you have the water parameters, that would help enormously.
Plecos get up to 18 inches and need a far bigger tank, at least 140 gallons for a happy plecol. Bala Sharks need at least a 120 gallon tank, but probably a 200 for them to be healthy, they get far too large for a 29 gallon and are a schooling fish. Tetras are also schooling fish and need to be kept in groups of 6 or more, and it is likely that the tetra died from ich because of stress from an unhealthy living condition. I would reccomend asking for some help with stocking int the Freshwater Begginers section for a better idea on appropriate stocking of your tank.
