Ich outbreak and ghost shrimp

I recently realized that my tetras have come down with a bad case of ICH(ick or whatever). I have taken my ghost shrimp out of the tank while treating the fish. The guy at the pet store was unsure wether it would harm it...

Now my questions
1) It doesnt say that it contains copper. But is it still dangerous for the shrimp

2) Is the shrimp likely infected with the Ich as well? dropping him in another tank for a while a bad idea(spreading it to the other tanks)?

3) If putting him in another tank is a bad idea how long can i keep him isolated in a makeshift tank?

lordy this is getting really confusing...

It is unlikely that the shrimp are infected.
The medications would harm the shrimp.
If you removed the shrimp my suggestion would be to medicate the tank with ich medication and jack the temperature slowly up to 83 degrees farenheit. The medication and temperature will kill the free swimming ich parasites. The already attached one will be unharmed, but will die soon. They only live a couple of days after attaching to the fish. I would keep the tank at 83 degrees for 2 weeks. then slowly bring the temperature back down, do a large waterchange and run activated carbon in the filter for an hour if you used medicines. If you did not use medicines in the tank leave out the activated carbon step.

after all done you can readd the shrimp.

Keeping the water at or above 82 for 2 weeks clears most ich. The only ich med we use is Ich-Attack (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2004+113016) since it's not harmful to the good bacteria and safe even for shrimp.
