Looks like sculiosis, or bending of the spine. I would -NOT- let that one breed, if it were in my tanks I'd actually feed it to something that'd eat it. It is what is referred to as a cull, or genetically flawed or otherwise unwanted fish.

yeah it just recently developed...she was preg and then one day i came how and her belly was small and she was like that..she had been giving birth a few days before...could it be some sort of stress related problem...and is it contagious or is it more of a proble with in the fish

That is pretty strange that it just developed like that in one day, and not something it was born with and grew with over time. That is sad.. I hope that you find out what is wrong with her.

As far as culling out goes... chief water changer.... just loooooook at those sad eyes.. how could you do it? awwwww its sooo sweet! poor lil thing...

yes its wierd..i normaly dont check to much in the morning but when i come home from school i do and i noticed that...and i had a zebra daino that got the same thing but it was werid cuase she was preg before and was having babyies...idk is it possible that she did somthing while giving birth

If it was an overnight change... sadly... she probably broke her back somehow. I know of no other situations that would cause that overnight other than breaking a bone, but good luck on finding something I don't know about, I hate to give bad news like that. Here's to hoping it is some weird situation I've never experienced or heard about, and fixes itself.

I should've asked if she was even moving her tail after that happened.. (Hate to be negative, but know that she may very well pass away soon)

well she sits more at the top of the watter just wiggling her tail back and forth...and if you stick your hand in there she doesnt make an effort to move.....should i just get rid of her now .or should i just wait and see..

I wouldn't put her down, because as we said, it could fool us all... but small chance of it.

it looks painfull..the dainio i had..lived for a month or two liked that..i put it in a quarantine tank because i thought she was sick but then she was fiine and never gave up

Make sure the others are getting a variety of foods such as veggie flake, tropical fish flake, and a protein rich food such as brine shrimp. That will cut the risks of vitamin deficiencies due to pregnancy. (Much like humans) When livebearer fish are carrying fry the fry leech nutrients from the mother, including calcium which would weaken her bones, leading to osteoperosis..

If you feel it would be better off putting her out of her misery I'd suggest putting her in a sandwich baggie of water, seal it, put her in the freezer. As the temp of the water drops she'll start to drift off to sleep and just never wake up. Do not believe the fanatics that claim the fish feels ice crystal form inside, etc. The fish is out of it soon as the water gets cold, but before it begins to freeze. That is the humane way we use at the fishhouse, if needed.

dont worry about being negitve...i have only been doing htis for alittle over a year..so fish dying isnt that bad..but im much more lucky now
