Help,
I had 4 balas for about a month now. they started developing red like blood on their fins, like capillaries. two have died, they twitch and have lost their shine in places.
I dont want to loose them. I do a partial water change every week and this week have chanegd half of the bio filter material.

it sounds like ulcers almost.. Sluggishness, lack of appetite, open sores with red edges, possible fin rot. -- is this a match for the problem?

no there are no open sores, however one of my dwarf gouramis died last week with open wounds, may have been ulcers.

do you have any pics of them? Some products that might help would be NovAqua+ and Prime for water conditioners. melafix won't work since you have air labyrinth fish.. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2004+113021 - Maracyn Plus is a good med for ulcers. I'm not sure if they have ulcers though - without a pic, i'm guess a little to be honest but i'm not sure of anything that matches their conditions more than ulcers.
