Hi ,
I`ve got a
goldfish in dire straits. About a month ago he started laying at the bottom of the tank most of the time (55 gallon shared with 5 barbs , 1 catfish , 1 tetra , 1 snail , 1 blue crawdad , 1 guppie).
He developed a white bump on his back so I put him in a seperate 5 gallon tank 2 weeks ago. Medicated with maracyn , maroxy & melafix. Week later he looks better but still not swimming around. I put him back in the big tank , thought that would help. Well , that made things worse , the barbs chewed his tail up. He was in the large tank 1.5 days.
I put him back in the seperate tank , started him back on medication. Give him 1 epsom salt bath to see if that would help. He`s quit eating , has developed black spots all over now and lays at the bottom all of the time. I read that peas would help but he won`t eat them. I read that the the black spots might be because his skin is healing.
Changed some of his water today to clean it out , gave him som tuberworms and I think he ate those. Anyway , he looks pretty rough as the picture shows. Have had him about a year , I don`t know if he`s going to get better. I don`t know what else to try , any suggestions ? I`ve debated on just getting him out of his misery.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.
George
