What do you do to create a quarentine tank?
I know it has to cycle so try and put some filter media in there... but you just keep it running until you need it?? How often do you do a wc? do you turn the light on at all? and what temp should it be at? |

Hi again. You have to keep it cycled if at all possible.
What I do is keep putting food in it, and rinse out the filter (in tank water, never leaving the filter out of the water for more than 2 mins) whenever it gets too clogged. Before putting a fish in it, I vaccuum the substrate and do a huuuge water change (75%). | |

At the moment, we don't have a q. tank - it ended up becoming the permanent home of a rescue betta.. it may not be the 'best' method but we tend to just run a q.tank when we need it and use cycle plus novaqua+ to treat the water and do 50% water changes daily. | |

I read the article about how to set it up... but it either didn't mention what to do to keep it running, maintenance and such, or I just plain missed it!
