Shimmy Block?

hey everyone,

this is pretty much a continuation of a question that leafgirl115 asked in another post. i thought it should be its own topic since it seems like not much is known about it and i have the very same problem with my guppies. :P

for those who don't know what "shimmies" are here is the description,

http://www.namethatfish.com/pages/aq...il.asp?item=72

i did a search looking for shimmy block but i can't find any place to purchase it, just a bunch of descriptions. I also tried searching the products on the jungle website but this elusive shimmy block was not there, which seems a little weird to me considering the description of this "condition" is found on the exact same site.

has anyone else encountered this? is it serious? and if so how did you treat?

Re: Shimmy Block?

I have used a product once or twice called Molly Bright made by Jungle. It says "stops itching, shakes, shimmys in live bearers and mollys" The bottle says "these are stress related conditions possibly related to poor water conditions". It's been so long since I've used it I don't remember how well it worked. Usually keeping my water in tiptop condition works works me.
