Anyone used products from Aqueon?

I went to a local Mom & Pop store that has a nice selection of fresh and saltwater fish, and went to check out their food supplies. I noticed a brand that I haven't seen before, and looking at their website it would seem that they are somewhat new (they have a lot of sections that are Under Construction). I'm wondering if anyone has heard of or used any of the products from Aqueon before? Looking at their food, they use quality fish meals made from whole fish, and (though the site doesn't show it on the website for some reason) their food has one of the lowest Ash contents I've seen on flakes (7% max). I'm thinking about giving some of their food a try, and that's when I noticed their site. They have a knock off of the Python, though it looks to have a little bit stronger construction on their intake tube. Also they have some HOB filters that mention having 4 stage filtration, the 4th they call wet/dry which I'm not really sure what that is? It looks kind of like they looked at all the best products on the market and found little ways to improve on them (at least on paper that is). Just curious if anyone has had any experience with them yet?

hmm.. i've not seen this brand before. I guess since they're new. Please let us know how you like their food.

I've seen those wet/dry filters at the DFS website.. they look interesting and i'm curious how many of the members here have them.

Wet/dry filters provide the ultimate in biological filtration. They are great for saltwater fish-only aquariums or any large aquarium setup that demands efficient biological filtration. These filters are called wet/dry filters because the biological filter media is exposed to both aquarium water (wet) and a significant amount of air (dry). This design creates the ideal environment for large numbers of beneficial bacteria to actively process waste materials. In general, these aquarium filters require the most effort to set up since they need to be installed or plumbed to the aquarium in a rather elaborate manner. However, for the creative and avid aquarium hobbyist, setting up a wet/dry filter provides the ideal opportunity to construct a custom, one-of-a-kind filtration system. Most models are designed for placement under an aquarium and require an overflow box on the back. Most wet/dry filters include a sump/reservoir that holds auxiliary equipment along with the required water return pump.

Sounds sort of like a bio-wheel type set up then. I wonder how they do it considering they look more like a whisper filter. I'll have to keep an eye out in the stores to see if I can see one in action. I asked that Mom & Pop to order some of their Spirulina flakes since I still have a decent amount of my tropical flakes (and the fiber will do my tetras good). I might check out some of their pellets too. I'll be sure to let you know how my fish like them.

I think they're "partly new" (whatever the heck that means).

I had never seen/heard of them before, either, but when I bought my All-Glass Aquarium hood back in May, I went to the website on the box/instructions and noticed that it redirected to the Aqueon website.

So I thought, "Oh, AGA must have changed their name to Aqueon."

But I've started to see more and more of their products lately, and not just in the aquarium hood sector. So now I think they may be some kind of holding company who just bought out AGA (and others).

I started this thread a month or so ago when I was debating on whether to buy a Lee's or Python gravel vac and came across a similar offering by Aqueon.

I've used their food before and it was pretty decent. It was just a jar of their basic tropical flake food. I have a couple of their heaters also and they seem to work pretty well I have noticed that their prices are pretty low which definetly makes the brand appeal to me

I "think" All-Glass aquarium company is affiliated in some way or are 1 in the same somehow. When I try to google All-Glass, Aqueon comes up and thier kits I have seen I believe uses the All-Glass's tanks. Also the tops I have which I got off of drfostersmith were advertised as All-Glass versa-tops but its the aqueon site that has the product info on them be it somewhat incomplete.
