How long has it been cycling? I am assuming a few weeks?

No since last week. I put some live plants in and just left it running.

Yes. The ammonia should be around .25 and the way you lower it is by doing 25-50% water changes. Also when you do water changes you should use Prime which is the water conditioner and ammonia detoxer.

Then you should see a spike in the Nitrites and when the Nitrites hit 0 and the nitrates are below 40ppm your cycle is complete.

This is my understanding. Someone like Prince Powder will chime in and give you the details. Hope this helps.

Read through my recent thread and this should answer most of your questions.

looks like its coming along great.....have you tested your tap water for any of the above? that will let us know more of where you stand....if you have fish in the tank, you should be doing daily changes with one of these http://www.fishlore.com/fishforum/aq...ling-fish.html if you dont have fish, leave the tank be good luck!

ammonia should always be 0 ...although .25 is low, any ammonia can be deadly
