my new guppies

I added 3 guppies to my ten gallon. Now i have an adult platty a baby platty and three guppies. I'm already starting plans for a 55gal tank because I am moving aomewhere that allows any size tank!

I had thought about guppies for my tank at one time. Are yours all male or female? As I also have an adult platy and a baby I would be interested to know how they get along with the guppies.

Platy adult is female, baby is too young to be sexed, and guppies are male. Everyone is getting along famously. The adult platy is actually kinda schooling with the guppies like it would other platies.

So the male guppies are nice to each other so far? I thought that they would be mean to each other, but perhaps that is only if there is a female in the mix!

Male guppies will only be arggressive toward each other if there is a female in the tank with them. They all want to breed with that female in the tank which would cause alot of chaos. I would reccommend getting another platy even though they aren't what you would call "schooling fish". I always try to buy fish in pairs of there own type. If they're alone I can't help to think that they're lonely, lol. Good luck in the 55 gallon move!

I was thinking of another platy but was worried that it would put me over capacity once the fry grows up. They will be staying in the ten. The 55 is going to either going to be a semi aggresive or cichlid tank
