| Why are you using Butterfly's account? Well I don't know but Butterfly could point you on the right direction. To begin with the tanks are too small for them. Second you need to know your water parameters maybe they are off. |

| Welcome to Fishlore, Cholo!
For 3 angelfish, I'd advise a 55 gallon tank. What type of gouramis do you have? That'll help us figure out what size tank you need. Also, do you know what type of plecos you have?
Once we have the above information, we can help advise you.
The nitrogen cycle is one of the most important aspects of fishkeeping. Here's the link. www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm.
Also, if you could tell us what kind of test kit your using and get your readings for pH, ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates, that would help us help you. |

| Hello & Welcome!
That is wonderful that you rescued the Angels, saw your post in the other thread.
You said you don't know about the nitrogen cycle. Here's a link to read up on. http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm It will help you understand what may be going on in your 15 gal. A cycled tank is ammonia 0, nitrite 0 and nitrAtes less then 20.
I would do a 50% water change asap. If there is toxins in there, the water change will lower them. I would suggest in getting a test kit, the API liquid master kit is what we all use here. That is the best way to know what exactly is going on in your tank. Daily water changes may be in order with Prime or Amquel Plus for a water conditioner. Eather one helps reduce the toxins for 24 hrs until next water change. Do you have an airstone in there?
If I may add, the 15 gallon isn't going to be big enough for the pleco. Do you know what plecos you have? Some get huge. They produce alot of waste! I would consider in returning it if possible. Even the one in your 20 gallon is ify. Your 20 gallon is way overstocked with the pleco since they are huge waste producers. Just keep up on your weekly water changes in the 20. The bottom line is you need a bigger tank if you want to keep all the fish in your 20 (need space and wont get dirty so fast) but the plecos are ify until we know what they are and Tiger Barbs can't be put in with the Angels. They are nippy and too active. I hope your one Tiger pulls through after a water change. I will be thinking about him.
I hope everything works out for you. Last edited by AlyeskaGirl; January 18th, 2010 at 06:35 PM.

Like I said on my first post the tanks are too small for the amount of waste that the fish are producing specially the 2 plecos. The angels usually you can have a pair on a 20 gal but that would be it. The tigers are fin nippers and as they get bigger will nip at the fins of the Angels and probably get them in stress and get fungus infections on their fins. I'm sorry to break it to you this way but that's the way it is. If the plecos are the common plecos they will get around bigger than a foot and a half and sometimes 24". I'm sorry but unless you can get a good deal on a bigger tank you will be doing water changes every 2 or 3 days. |

| Awwwww, I am so sorry you lost him.
Since you just got the 20 gallon, you deff. need that test kit. They are spendy but worth it. Skip the test strips, they don't give accurate readings. Daily water changes are going to be a must with Prime or Amquel Plus, like I stated above in my first post. Angelfish don't do well in an uncycled tank, speaking from experience.
