swimmingly well!

So, an update in the aftermath of my mini-cycle incident....

Thanks to some sound advice from this site, this is what my tank has been up to lately:
1) The water is testing well lately, some bigger water changes (I used to do 8 litres a week, now I do 14 to 16 litres) I am now using only Prime, not even a sprinkle of aquarium salt.

2) After the loss of Honig and Biene, (my gouramis), Fritz, (one of my platies) as a result of the mini cycle, the tank is looking a bit empty. Took this opportunity to do some light housekeeping (algae scrubbing, not touching that filter media!)

3) Rehomed my last big swordtail as she was too aggressive, looks like someone bought her today (yeah!) Also rehomed my white clouds as they like a colder environment than I am providing.

4) My new honey gourami is waiting not so patiently in his Q tank, he has been in there 5 days now, is active and eating well.

So here are my questions:
When can I add my honey G? He looks ready to me.... But I know many here say to Q longer...

I have finally decided I would like a few more Platies, preferably females. Is all female Platies okay?

Do neon tetras school nicely? My white clouds didn't but maybe they would have in a colder tank.

What other tetras could I consider for my tank, or does someone have a different suggestion all together?

Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Thanks for the update!
I've give the gourami at least 2 weeks in Q.

You might not get the schooling effect you want with neons. They usually school if they're afraid. They'll schoal, which is cool. The can be fin nippers. Maybe consider cardinals instead?
When I use the word schooling, I mean that they glide back and forth the tank together.
I use schoal in the sense that they will hang together but also go off and do their own thing.
I don't know anything about platies, so I can't help you there.

All female platies are fine, but they can come to you from the store with sperm stored or pregnant. Just don't be surprised to see some fry. You can just leave any fry in the tank, though, and let nature do its thing (the adults will eat the babies, sort of like giving them feeder fish)

Thank you Lucy and Meenu, Okay so 2 weeks in the Q tank ( that little guy is going to be mad!) and I will start my search for some platies.
