There are bristlenose plecos and clown plecos, that only get 4-5". Is this for your 29 gallon?

I'd suggest calling around to your local LFS. If they don't carry them, you can check Aquabid, Liveaquaria.com, or thatfishplace.com.

Chaetostoma Thomasi gets to 4". Zebra Plec gets to about 3", Hypoptopoma Inexspectatum 2 1/2", Clown Plec 4". Peckoltia Pulcher 2 1/2" (my favourite), BN gets to about 6" & many people don't know but Otos are part of the Loricariidae family as well.

Pleco4, welcome to FL. All plecos are too big for 10 gallons, but depending on tankmates, you could consider a small school of otocinclus catfish.

Hmm.. Fishdude, same answer for you - a pleco won't work for a 10 gallon. Hmm..you're already way overstocked for a 29g. I wouldn't add a pleco to the mix. Have you had a chance to read the goldfish care guide?

I just wanted to jump in here and say thanks for the info. I just ordered the rest of the hardware for my new tank, and I'm wanting to add a Pleco when I get it cycled!

You don't have a high enough post count to use the buy and sell forum but if you do a search in there we have a member named Todd that sells bristle nose plecos. Brown and albino. I recently got two from him and cost plus shipping was a lot cheaper then buying two locally. Plus he has raised many of these and mine arrived very healthy. He had heat packs in the packaging. If I need more BN's I will get them from him.

Common names for Peckoltia Pulcher is Pretty Pleco & for Hypoptopoma Inexspectatum is Giant Otocinclus. Very little infomation available on the giant Oto. The Peckoltia looks very much like a Clown Plec but is smaller & often has a green color to it.

I have a Bristlenose in my 29 gal tank. He is very active but I suggest you keep an eye on him. I found mine inside the emperor 280 filter I have on the tank when I got home this evening!
