Cold water effects?

dear All,
I came across a query from a friend to which i did'nt have a solid answer.
it's winter time at our side of the globe and temperatures have dropped to roughly 18~20C and going lower day by day.
Will eventually reach 5~7C

Q: What will happen to my Oscar and Angels if i dont put a heater in?

I myself have a heater installed and maintain a temperature of 26C, however the friend in question does want to throw in a heater cause he faces numeroud downtimes in electricity and the backup system cannot handle a heater.

will the fish become sluggish and die out!?

Oscars and Angelfish are both tropical fish and require warm water to live. I'm sorry to say, if the water becomes too cold, they will not survive.

They really do need a heater to survive, since they're tropicals.
Also, as the Oscar grows, you may see those Angels become a snack.
