| Hello Speedofactory. Your tank and fish are beautiful. Sorry, but I'll have to let someone else ID the plants for you. I think as long as you keep up with your regular water changes your fish will be fine
Thanks for sharing your photos!

| Was this tank just set up recently? It depends how well established a tank is, how much the filtration, and the amount of plants and swimming space.
For me, I always push the limit. Most on here don't do that route. And it depends on the kind of fish you have and their size.
You have a really nice tank and I really like what you done with the driftwood and Java Moss. |

Thunder thanks for your reply and this tank had been up for around 2 week. i think the filtration isn't something i worry about, it's because the filtration i brought is for a 20 gallon to 30 gallon tank so i think it will be ok.
and i too do a weekly water change. in this case am i overstocking my tank? or can i put more fish in it Last edited by speed0factory; November 17th, 2009 at 04:13 AM.

| Hi Speed.
Your filtration is good since you have a filter rated for 20-30 gallons. I'd advise not to add anymore fish. Your stocking list is fine as long as you keep up with daily water changes, nothing to worry about Good luck! |

| Yeah, don't add any more to it. Neon Tetras are quite sensitive, so when you do daily water changes or every other day, don't change too much.
I'm a bit surprised you already got Neon Tetras in there already, so I would expect at least some deaths from them, unless you get really lucky. I've never had such luck with them.
Do you have sufficient lighting for those plants? Are those EcoComplete? Those plants need nutrients and probably Co2 in any form, unless enough of it comes from the fish. |

| Flourish Excel is a great Co2 liquid alternative to Co2 injection, depending on plants.
Your tank is small, so it pose a greater risk of thrown water chemistry with each water change. Yes, Neon Tetras are very sensitive to that, especially in a newly set up tank not yet established.
Flourish have a great line of supplies for your plants. If you decide to use Co2, you may need iron supplement. Honestly, I think Co2 injection is too much for that small thank. I learned from that recently with my 10gal tank. Try the Excel, you'll still get a nice result.
Those Zebras, are they Glo? |

| You have just under 2 watts per gallon in a small tank. You should be fine without Co2.
Excel would be an option but just use the plants as an indicator. If they arent growing well find out why.
Did you remove a piece of the filter from your older tank to start this one? |
