We did a water test and everything came back within normal levels on the strip. The temperature is 80. We have a 10 gallon tank with 1
neon tetra, 3 orange tetras....can't remember the name and 2 glo fish. The neon's mouth is open, but the bottom jaw sticks out straight. He swims most of the time straight up and down like he is trying to breathe, even though I know he isn't trying to get air at the top, that is what it looks like. He does eat, but not easily. I looked and the edges of his mouth are clear, not cloudy or white. The inside of the bottom is white, but I don't know what the normal color is. I tried to see if there was something lodged in there, but can't see anything. Any suggestions?? We have had him about 1 1/2 years.
So hubby did another test when I asked and this is what we found.
ammonia normal to ideal.
nitrate #3 is 20. Nitrate #2 is .5
PPM. Water hardness is 300, which is high. How do I fix that?
chlorine is 0.
alkalinity is 40.
pH is 7.0. There are the numbers. Any help??
