Molly self love??

Weee more posts by me

My molly mummy has started... kissing the side of the tanks? I've only noticed her doing it recently and I'm wondering if it's because shes the only adult fish in the tank (everyone else is like 1/4 of her size except the preggers guppy).

She goes up to the sides of the tank(the sides only, not the front or back) and presses her mouth against it. Sometimes she even swims up and down with just her mouth pressed against the glass. Like zooomm up down up down kissy kissy.

I've been watching her, she's definitely not rubbing against anything but the glass, and not touching with anything but her lips. When I watch I can see her reflection so was wondering if it was just her seeing her reflection.

All the tank readings are normal of course pH 7.6, ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 8.

I just had a brilliant idea. I'll go cover the side so there is no reflection and see what happens

L8r!

haha It could be a pretty Molly adoring her own reflection. Yeah, try to cover the side. And maybe get a picture too!

lol I think I should film it when she does her zoom zoom. It's like shes agro or something. She kisses the glass and her reflection doesn't kiss back so she goes NNRRROOOOMMM.

Funny since I only sponged it yesterday. Maybe I'll try get some algae rocks going for her

She's starting to school with the guppies. It's very cute seeing my baby male guppy trying to push mumma mollie around. He's so small compared to her!!

I wouldn't think that she is doing it to the reflection. You are seeing a reflection because you are looking through the water to the side of the tank that is a different plane. They can see right through the glass (very much like you can see through the glass in front of you).

She sounds like a cutey though!
