hey my tank seem to have fungus and ick at the same time. I already put in coppersafe in the tank. and ick seem to be better. For fungus i was treating with maracyn Plus .. also i thought maracynPlus will treat some secondary infection due to ick. But fungus is not going away. Can i use stuff like fungus CLear by jungle while there is copperSafe in the water? what should i do for fungus?? pls help

Personally, I would have prefered raising the temp to kill off the ICH, but wasn't it you who had ich that wouldn't die off even with high temps not to long ago?

Not sure about mixing the Jungle Clear with Coppersafe, but I have used Maracyn with some success in the past. Did you follow the directions for the Maracyn? How long has it been since you treated with the Maracyn? I believe the directions say you can dose twice if the fungus doen't clear up after the first dose. Also from what I understand there are gram+ and gram- fungus and one type of maracyn works better on one type of fungus and the other maracyn works better on the other.

yeah. i am the one.. ick still troubling me. it goes away and comes right back. i have tired Rid-Ich+ whole bottle. Temp is at 87 degrees.. after Rid-Ich+ failed i am on copperSafe. i see some fungus now.. Doesnt maracyn plus treat both gram+ and gram- bacteria? i have some maracyn2 powder too? should i use that? i gave 3 doses of maracyn plus. each dose a day apart.

I forget all the different versions of Maracyn, but I think plain Maracyn (or maybe they call it Maracyn 1) treats either gram+ or Gram- and Maracyn 2 treats the one that Maracyn 1 doesn't. (I'm sure you can get the info on any website that seels it)

I used the powder, and I think you add a certain amount for 2 days, do a partial water change then treat for another 2 days. I do beieve the instructions say you can use more than one Maracyn product at the same time.

First Coppersafe was worked great against my VERY stubborn case of Ich. No fish or plant loss at all even the pesky pond snails were fine. The cycle remained intact as well.
If I remember correctly though you should not have the heat raised up that high with Coppersafe. The oxygen is already depleted in the water due to the medicine and further depleted by warmer temps. Check on the instructions though as I am not 100% positive.
JDHEF is correct about two types of Maracyn. Coppersafe is safe to mix with other Mardel products but I would be a little nervous about mixing with other brands. Follow the instructions very closely with Coppersafe. Do you have a copper test kit to monitor copper levels? The same can be said for Maracyn- to be effective you must do it for the entire recommended time. It sounds like you did the first time.
