My new fiddler crabs.

I am not only new here, but I am new to fiddler crabs. I purchased four FC at Wal-Mart. I went through the internet to get some info about caring for them. I am using a 6 gal Sterilite & just got this mini filter. I keep the water "brackish", and use aquarium salt. I have a big one(I call him daddy), I have a female adult, ( I call her mommy), the other male( JR.) is not quite as big as the daddy;however, he is about as big as the female. The baby, is a female ( I call her just that!) I noticed that the (daddy) has been picking on her, I looked it up, and sure enough, the article said that the bigger males pick on the babies. I am worried that the daddy will kill or hurt the baby. I wonder if I should separate them, or what. I was wondering about molting and was thinking that when one of them is going through that maybe they ( FC) would feel safer in a separate tank until they get better. Don't worry! I won't do that unless you suggest it. I was just thinking that the FC might like some privacy. They look healthy. They spend alot of time hiding in between the rocks and this little cave.

Hi Lisa. Welcome and congrats on your new fiddlers.

I don't know much about the little guys, except that they're cute , but I just wanted to mention that you should probably use Marine salt rather than Aquarium salt for your brackish water. High-five to you for doing some research first and putting them in brackish and doing your best to make them happy. Hmmm, maybe if they have multiple out-of-water areas that they can access, then they would be able to escape one another if needed.
