Hi everyone,
ICH news: After two weeks I've gradually brought the temperature down from 84 to something more fitting the residents, and they all seem fine, 'happy' even!
To the subject matter: I have a reasonable quality interior filter (ferplast blu-wave 5, I think) It seems to do a very good job. However, it fits flat against the side of the tank and seems to be a place where I find "trapped fish" on the odd occasion.
Usually the fish, usually rummy nosed tetras - are in a bad way by the time I find them, and don't make it through the night.
I'm trying to work out what is going on. I wonder whether the fish gets trapped behind the filter, then struggles to exhaustion to the point of no return, or whether it is being bullied and finds refuge behind the filter.
Obviously, part of me hopes that it is the former - I could put a 'prop' against the side of the filter to stop this from happening, and it makes more logical sense - my RBS is a little territorial, but I never see him chase anyone for more than a second.
Any ideas, folks?
Chris.
