variety of tank??

So i know there is freshwater, and reef, and marine/ saltwater tanks, but thats not where I'm heading....

My question is what type, or variety, of freshwater fish tanks are there

Like when I go to the pet store (aka Pet Smart), with each kind of fish they have, its says like what type it is, like....
*Tropical Community
*Semi-Aggressive
*Aggressive

So I was wondering, is it proper 'lingo' or what-not, or do people go around saying like "I got a tropical community fish tank", or a "I got a semi-aggressive tropical community" ?

Or is that not how it goes? Like I'm thinking of setting up a 'freshwater great lake community' fish tank... is that a real term? I was thinking of how I would look for resources for that kind of tank, or any other type of tank.

Thanks so much in advance for your help,

-R

I think that you could call a tank anything you wanted. Although there are some terms recognized more than others, most of the time it's just generilization. If you asked me what my main tank is I'd say "an Aggressive American Cichlid Tank". It has an Oscar, Dempsey, and Convict who are all American and aggressive. But it also contains a Severum who isn't aggressive and 3 Jewels who are African. So basically I'd just call a tank whatever I thought best described it.
