pregnant molly?

I put up a post about my pregnant molly and what to do with the babies a little while ago....but how do I know for SURE if she really is pregnant??

I took everyone's advice, and bought a breeder box and put her in there. I also called up a local pet store and asked if they would take the babies since I do not have any room in my tank for any of them and they will! So, I have everything set up...but now am second guessing whether or not she is truly pregnant!

...could be that I'm extremely impatient, and want to watch her have the babies..? I don't know..

Thanks!

Under the quick reply box is a button saying "Go Advanced". Click on that and it will take you to a screen with a button saying "manage attachments". Click on that and a box will open letting you browse your computer and upload pics.

If shes being kept with males then she probably is pregnant, but she doesn't look like shes going to give birth anytime soon to me.

I have a male molly, and 2 male plays...I found that out when I first started thinking she was pregnant. So should I take her out of the breeder box for now? and if so, how do I know when she's about to give birth so I know when to put her back in?

I would expect the gravid spot (the area behind her white belly) to become fairly dark a few days before she gives birth. This is not always the case, but as light colored as your girl is, I don't think you will have any problem noticing it.

Hello AnnT. I agree that your "beautiful" Molly has a way to go before she gives birth, if she is indeed pregnant. Live bearers give birth every 28 to 40 days. Maybe that will help you track her timing a bit more closely.
Keep us posted please.
You have some beautiful fish!
