Fish food question......

Hello, I have some cherry barbs some jewel cichlids and I believe a Zebra Obliquidens fish and they all have a red color to them and I would like to purchase a food that brings out the red color more. Does anyone know of any food that can do that for me?

Hello Jview. I just read a post yesterday by Slug and he stated that raw shrimp is the best food to bring out the red in fish. He breeds Discus so I'm sure he knows all about coloring and I would trust his text.

The shrimp is good for the color of fish as are most prepackaged fish foods. Most contain color enhancers & frozen food is always good for color as well.

Are those fish all in the same tank?

I think cichlid staples and bloodworns would bring out their color but I don't really know

Glad the Barbs are seperate. You had me worried there for a minute. You may have issues with the jewel & the zebra as they are from very different water. The zebra requires hard water with a high pH while the jewel is from soft water with much lower PH. It is impossible to provide the right water conditions for both fish in the same tank so you will only be able to get one or the other to show thier full colors.

Omega One includes the skins of the fish used to prepare their foods. This is a natural color enhancer.
