hi i have had an albino rainbow shark for about 2 weeks now in my new tank a friend bought it but gave it to me about an hour after she had it because her other shark picked on it, it spends a lot of time at the bottom of the tank but tea time and late on it starts swimming as normal, is white with red fins, underneath its body it has all red patches and right at the end on top just near its tail its cheeks look a bit red too does this mean that its ill?

It also looks like its sleeping most of the time and just seems to sink then pick itself up again x

rainbow and red tail sharks are bottom dwellers, the reason why it was getting picked on b/c they are extremely territorial. Try dimming the lights or turning them off so the fish can get used to his surroundings. If he keeps acting up perhaps he is ill and I hope someone else can help you out on that part. What are your water parameters as well?

*Off topic*
Do you have a spare tank to put the angels in? Barbs and Angels usually do not mix well. I also remember talking about the clown loach so that's solved kind of.

I'm sorry your fish isn't feeling well.
What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?
Red cheeks (gill area) can be a sign of ammonia poisoning.
In your other thread you mentioned medicating another fish that was sick? What meds are you using?
I'm sorry, but I have to repeat what was said in the other thread.
Your fish are not compatible or suitable for your size tank.

Can you get your water tested somewhere? Have them write down the readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrates.
Time to take them up on their offer to take the fish back.

clown loaches don't really have scales either and therefore sensitive to certain medications. Be really careful!

I will get it tested asap but the king british safe water i have been adding weekly is supposed to take the harmful amonia out of the water, also my clown loach is just over an inch long so its really small x

The members gave excellent advice in this thread about cycling your tank and the product you're using......especially posts #3 and 8:

Yes it's small at the moment b/c they are slow growers eventually you will need a bigger tank.
