Cory catfish and ghost shrimp?

Can cory catfish and ghost shrimp coexist? Also, is either one schoolers? Finally, any good suggestions for a cory, are their colorful versions?

The corys will not attack the ghost shrimp unless they are baby ghost shrimp. My fav corys are the false jujis or lepoard corys

Corycats are schoolers and love a tank with at least 6 of them as a school. You can have different types of Cory's and sometimes they might school.

My favorites are also the leopard cory, the albino cory and the green cory.

Corys are loose schoolers. They like being in groups, but they won't stay together in the tank like Neons will. You're most likely to see them all together if they feel threatened or if they're resting.

Hello,

I have a cory question: Would 4 corys be an adequate group? I have a 20 gal and I'm considering cories to help with any food that the fish miss.... Would 6 be too many in a 20 gal?

Thanks!

Depends on what you already have in the tank. I have 6 albino corydoras in my 20 gal tall but I only have 3 guppys and a dwarf gourami as tankmates. If you have only a small bioload besides 6 corydoras you'd be fine. If not than you'd probably have to go with less. Generally I believe you could put less than 6 in a tank you just won't get as much activity out of the corys, which is most of their appeal.

Corys are really compatible with ghost shrimps, they do a great job of cleaning the leftovers. I have a group of 3 cory's and no they don't school all the time but when they're resting or eating they'll be in groups but every once in awhile they will scavenge together. Try going for the smaller size cory's so you can get more! I think you can get away with 3 and no less!

Thanks for all the tips, everyone has been a huge help. I have a 55 gal with 6 guppies, 2 dwarf gourami, 2 zebra danios, 1 ghost shrimp, and 1 raspbora h. Just added the danios, gonna wait about a week and maybe add 3 corys.... I want the suggested 6 so those little guys can keep my substrate nice and clean, should i go ahead and add all 6 or do a 3 + 3...

I believe most FW peaceful shrimps can be considered safe with the small sized Corydoras.

I keep Yellow Nose Shrimps (seven) with Panda and Imitator Corydoras, as well as Khuli Loaches. They get along quite well with the Shrimps controlling a territory that doesn't overlap/compete with the other bottom dwellers.
