first winter with tropical fish

Just wondering if the tanks go through anything once winter sets in good. Do you need be on the lookout to bump up the heat or anything like that?

As long as the house stays warm, you shouldn't have a problem.

Take a look at this thread, has some good ideas/suggestions just to be ready.

Agree with Matt. Especially if you have your tank heater on then it should be fine Don't worry!

Good morning Red. Sometimes I do have to make adjustments to the heaters because in the summer I have to turn them down a bit. Just keep an eye on your thermometer.

Red, in our region the biggest thing to worry about with winter is power outages.

Where I live that is not too much of a problem as it is a rarity that we ever have poweroutages. I guess that is one of the only advantages of living in the middle philly, even if the power goes out its does not last more than a few hours.

I will keep an eye on the temp.............Hopefully with this weird weather everyones having our power will remain consistent.

The power seldom goes out at my house either, but is more likely to in the winter. So you actually live in the city? Which part (if you don't mind saying on an open forum)?

Go Phillies and Go Eagles!
