Oscar health..not feeding

Hi all,
Its been 15 days since i last saw my oscar feed....it just lays at the bottom all day...when you approach the tank it jumps up and comes to you and follows you around everywhere and begs for food...but when i feed the fish..all but the oscar refuses to eat...

ive seen it take a couple of pellets down but just spits it out...later on just falls behind the filter and hides and lays on the bottom all the time...

i feed my fish...chichlid pellet...flakes...peas and shrimp

what could be wrong...

i have another oscar in there...the same size and everything...doing great!

im sorry hes not doing any better but the fact he begs is a good sign!
try some frozen cubes of bloodworms and fresh beef heart pieces...is the shrimp fresh?

I'm sorry your Oscar isn't feeling well.
If he's begging, like Shawnie said - that's a good thing.
Try a new type of meaty food to see if he'll eat. My Oscars LOVE earthworms.

I would guess that the other Oscar is picking on the one thats not feeding, the same thing happened with my Oscars. It got so bad that I had to re-home one of them. How big are your guys?

Hi shawnie...well the shrimp are fresh..get them from the nearby meat shop every two days...tried feeding them worms too...no success

Amanda - a just cant get a hold of eathworms over where i live...everything is freeze dried

Nick - i might have to re-home the poor kid if things dont get any better soon!
