lol I think most of us have swallowed tank water at one time or another. Until recently I kept a towel on the floor during my water changes just so I'd have somewhere to spit. Not any more
Have a great weekend!

Thank you Ken, you have a good weekend as well. We too keep a towel in front of the tank lol.
Well it is day 2 of the gradual tank temp increase and the temp is at 82, have been doing daily 25% water changes, and got all new stuff. All of our fish seem to be thriving, except of course the pleco who has ICH and also our albino cory cats. The cats (pinkie and pinkerton) are gasping for air and looking really sleepy and then they will jump up and start eating, swim around as usual, and then go back to the rocks at the bottom and gasp for air. I am wondering if it means they are getting to hot or if they are getting sick?

Good morning Melissa. Do you have an air stone/supply line in your tank? Warmer waters require more oxygen. This could be why they seem to be gasping for air. The fish you have mentioned should be able to handle the increase in temperature for the two weeks. Go up to 84 degrees to be on the safe side to rid the ICH.
Keep us posted.

Yes I have one small air stone and an air wand (the flexible type) that is about a foot long. They have had these since the tank started though, so maybe they still need more?

Have you taken your readings yet?

Yes I did them yesterday before adding the prime, I put them in my section for the tank. ammonia .5, 0 for nitrate and nitrite, and I think pH was 7.2(?). I will do them before I do the water change here in a minute.

Ok.. the air supply you have in your tank now should be just fine. Keep up with the water changes and adding the Prime for detox.

Well in cleaning the tank I am somewhat proud (wish the tank was in better condition) to announce I am now a grandmother of 6 baby guppies! Apparently the heat really went up in the tank!
My Fiance just ran out to the pet store to get a baby nest and food! Wow this makes at least 20 trips to the pet stores in just 8 or 9 days lol. Good think we signed up for the pet perks!!

Congrats Grannie!
I agree about the "pet perks". I joined the PetCo club and the discounts at times are very good. I usually order my Nova Aqua and Amquel + (my chems of choice like Prime) by the gallon. Usually $40 each + shipping. I bought them last at PetCo with my PetPals card and saved $14 on the chemicals and at least $10 in shipping. It pays to shop and save!

Well the fish seem to be doing okay, but more of them have ich. The water is at 84 degrees and has been for 2 days. We are also the proud grandparents of 2 baby mollies now! We lost two of them, but we now have 8 granfinbabies!
