Not sure what is the best time for the fish, but I usually do Friday night and by Saturday the tank is settled. If I cant do fri I do sat morning. I always feed first and wait until everyone has eaten. I just picked a time that was easy for me to do around the same time each week. Hopefully someone will come along and verify if there is a better time for the fish!!!!

I'm doing mine now...and the fish like it. I think it doesn't really matter that much. I never do it early in the morning as in wake up time. Usually feed them a bit before doing anything to the tank.

Hello Neupane. Hope you're having a nice weekend. I like to do my water changes after the fish have had breakfast and some of the access food filters out for a while. I know we all like to do what is best for our fish, but this is one instance I have to do what is best for me.

I don't think your fish will mind you looking out for yourself just for this one instance LOL Take care!

I don't know if this is best or not but I do my water changes on Sunday mornings, before turning on the lights. I like to think that it is less stressful since they haven't really "started their day".

After the water change I turn on the light and wait at least a half hour before feeding.

my water changing seems to cause no stress to my fish at all. i typically do my changes every monday when i get home from work. i would be scared to do it with the lights out, dont wanna suck anybody up!

I do my w/cs every Saturday and the fishy's don't seem to trip out. The only time they trip out is when I rescape the tank. They get really stressed and lose color but they go back to normal after.

Maybe I wasn't to clear (that wouldn't be the first time), but I meant before turning on the tank light. Trust me, it is daylight when I get out of bed on the weekends!
