platy nipping at the snail

Is it normal for platies to nip at snails? I have a gold inca snail and I caught the platies trying to nip at it. Will they hurt it?

They may stress it out. Is there only one snail?

I also like to remind keepers of snails, don't forget to supplement their calcium! Without it, they will die.
Cuttle bones
Crushed coral
Crushed sea shells
Crushed egg shells
Liquid calcium
snail food rich in calcium.

Yes its only one. I usually feed it cucumbers and zucchini. How would I do crushed egg shells or any of the items you mentioned. Thanks much

Cucumbers and zucchinis (aka snail food rich in calcium) will give your snail the calcium necessary for healthy shells and growth. That's what I do for mine and thy have lovely solid big bright shells.

You can find shells/coral at pet stores or in craft section of regular stores. I've put it in a sock, smashed it with a hammer, added to tank.

Egg shells can be rinsed of eggy goo, tied inside some mesh netting, and set in a back corner to dissolve into the water.
