10 Gallon Tank: What's a good community/school set up for a 10 gallon tank?

I'm new and confused I'm seeing that 10 gal is not enough for Dwarf Neon Rainbow fish, who get to 2.5", but others are saying it is enough for Neon Tetras who get to the same size. I just bought a 10 gal tank and my daughter wanted Neon Tetras, but we were told the 10 gal was too small for them. We got 3 glass fish instead and will add more of something, but what? Hope I didn't hijack this thread!

neons only grow to 1.5". they can be quite active and they regularly school, that's why a ten gallon might've been considered too small. you can create your own thread in the "Freshwater Stocking Suggestions" forum, you'll get alot more answers there.
