Saran Wrap ????

Can I use Saran Wrap in my tank without harming my fish ??

in your tank i would say no..they could get stuck in it and suffocate..but I do use it on my fry tanks to cover it to hold in heat

what were you thinking of using it for?

I don't think saran wrap will do too well once it's been completely submerged. Too, I have to ask what you might have in mind to use if for.

you can use some filter floss, or some 100% pure polyester (stuffing you get in a bag at walmart ...like 4 bucks for an entire bag) that has no perfumes or dyes...

Drew, you can also add a filter sponge onto your intake tube. Aqua Clear sponges are great for this but any filter sponge will do. You can wrap the tube or slice and X in the top of the sponge and slide it on. Too, it will add to your biological filtration as well, rinse it in siphoned tank water when you do your water changes. I wouldn't recommend saran wrap for this purpose.

You could also cover the intake tube with a piece of nylon stocking.
