molly fry

hello

I've just been to look in my tank and my gold molly is giving birth. so far Ive managed to catch 3, there is still another loose in the tank and I've found 1 that apears to have been eaten. I know there will be alot more,
Ive put them in a net that is still left in the tank because my guppies where trying to eat them. the thing is my tank has only just finished cycling and by only just I mean 2 days ago so I dont know if this will have an impact on the filter.
I cant keep them so what do i do? does the LFS take them?

thanks again

Hello dave!
Fry dont have much bioload. Though you need to feed them 3 times a day so you would have to syphon the left over food at night everyday. Yes, LFS do take fry, MOST of the time. Not always, and if they do, they wont take that many of them

This may sound harsh, but if you're willing to let nature take its course & you're not able to keep them all or find homes for them, then you may want to just leave the fry with the mom and let her eat them. Mine do it all the time. It's kinda gross at first, but it's normal.
