Red Wag Tail platy getting more red?

Hello everyone

I have a red wag tail platy for 6 months and i thought yesterday while observing the tank that it seemed to be very red around the head/gills and a few red blotches on spine.

Maybe this is just his natural red colour expanding as it grows?

It almost looks as if its bleeding from inside under its scales its so red, but its eating and swimming normally and no other problems.

One thing to note is that this platy is in a community 40G tank and constantly being chased for 6 months by the other platy who was got at the same time. Some times he chases back, and sometimes he has scales missing from being biten.

Thanks

Can u put up a pic? Would be easier for us to help you if you could. The others may know there's something up with him/her and will try as weed out the ill and the weak.

Sorry to hear this is happening to you and your fish.

I'm sorry to hear about your Platy. It could be an infection or some sort of internal bleeding since you said it looks like its bleeding. Do you have a quarantine tank? With a Q tank, it'll be easier to watch him, stabilize him and keep him away from harm and to prevent him from being hurt by his tank mates while he's hurt. Keep us updated please.

Good morning. If you could post your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate it would be a big help. Photos are always great in helping to diagnose the situation as well. It sounds like it could be ammonia issues and the beginning of septicemia.
Septicemia in Koi and Goldfish Ponds (this link will give you information on Setpicemia even though it states for goldfish)
The more information you can give us, hopefully the more we'll be able to help.
Best of luck and I hope your fish is going to be ok.
