Clear/White Pool Filter Sand

I am thinking of turning my new 5 gallon into a planted/dwarf puffer tank.

My friend is using a pool filter sand that is white/clear looks more like super fine ground glass than normal silica sand. His dianos do just fine with this type of sand but I am wondering if it would be appropriate for a dwarf puffer. I think it would make a great contrast to all the green from the plants but I don't want to use it if it is likely to tare up someones belly.

Thanks

If it is true pool filter sand it will be fine. I have seen it that color on up through a light tan cream. But I'll warn you the lighter sand shows every tiny speck of fishy poo
Look at it through a magnifying glass and it should look round.

I'm not to worried about the fish poo look lol it all shows up in my 55 with the darker tan pool filter sand so I'm pretty used to it.
