Things have been cruisin along well and the fish seem healthy and happy but this week I had a spike to .5 on my Nitrites. ammonia is 0 and the Nitrates are 10 and pH is 8.2.

So what would change my Nitrites from a constant 0 to the .5.

lack of water changes? thats what happened to one of my tanks this week a tank thats been cycled for years, was 2 weeks overdue for a water change....and I am now in a mini cycle..

Thanks. I did a water change and all is well. I am learning that if in doubt change the water.
