I don't know what to do!

If you've read my other thread you know that I lost one of my fish because of a mini cycle when I added 2 new tiger barbs to the tank. So now there are only 3 barbs.

I thought the cycle had passed because the I have been doing water changes and the fish seemed to be doing better. But the the one newest barb was up near the filter like the other one that died, so when I tried to move him he just started swimming very awkwardly and upside down and I would've thought he was dead if his gills and fins and mouth wasn't moving.

I don't know what to do He's basically already dead but he's still alive and i feel so bad.

dont think there is a heck of alot you can do except not buying more fish until your sure that your cycle is finished.

You can buy a testing kit or take a sample to your local pet/fish store and they can tell you if your tank is done cycling.

sorry about your fish

it can take a few weeks to fix a mini cycle and many more weeks to cycle a tank to begin with..keep up with the daily changes no matter what the fish look like....get some prime or ammo lock to change the water with as it will keep the fish safe.....

you will be cycled when you have 0 ammonia/nitrites and under 20 nitrates...dont add any fish or stop the water changes until you have those results...

I feel for you abc123d30. I've had a cycle crash in my 56 gal and the daily 50% changes are killing me. Hang in there and you'll get through it.

I don't think that's it. I spent a good hour acclimating them so that shouldn't have been a problem. I let the bag float for 15 mins, added some of the tank water, let it float for another 15 mins, added water, etc...

I haven't stopped doing the water changes. I need to pick up some more amquel or something though because I was using a small bottle and I'm out. I'm going to go to the LPS today though and trust me, I don't plan on buying anymore fish until I know my tank is 100% healthy.
