A Few Questions...

Hey Everyone, I change my water once a week. So I vacuumed about half of the gravel and the next week I dont touch the gravel, just change the water. So everyone other week I vacuum the gravel, does like sound okay? Also, when I moved my fish tanks on one corner there looks like a chip on the outside of the tank. No water is leaking and it looks okay, but should I take any precautions for the chip? It is about half an inch long. Thanks!

I would clean the gravel every week because mine has a lot of fish poo and it looks ugly with it. I don't think it will do anything if the chip is near the top but I am not sure.

If your water parimeters are good with the maintenance you have been doing, its great.....most of the time if you are NOT overstocked , half a vac every other week is great...it leaves the tank to get some naturalness to it....as far as the chip, keep a close eye on it and maybe to be safe, you can put a coat of silicone for tanks over it to be sure its not leaking...and maybe prevent it from spreading(the crack) although im not sure that will help but it cant hurt

I do the same with my 55 gallon tank. A good gravel vaccum one week, just water change the next. I dont seem to have a lot of poop so it works good for me! I would think as long as all your levels are ok, it should be fine.
