Stand

What is the best 10 gallon stand? I read a review on amazon.com that Penn Plax is a bad brand to buy but I like the lay out of it, it's very simple and black.

The wood was already cut to size, just some brackets, screws, a lil trim and tack nails and wha la!! It took me about 2hrs and the painting 2 days cause I put 2 coats on it. I did it all in the house, hehe my partner wasn't to happy with me then but she sure loves the stand.

Here's how it looks now with my lil nano on it.

Hi Eiginh, you could visit your local DIY store and ask them for the strongest wood that could hold a ton! haha just kidding. Well, you CAN visit your DIY store and let them suggest a good wood for your tank. I agree with Ramzi, DIY tank stand is the cheapest and fun way. Hope to see some pictures of it when it's done! Good luck!

Since fall schedule is starting next week, I decided to buy a metal stand from Petco. It's not the Penn Plax brand so it cost a bit more but I think it's a good buy. It looks a lot sturdier than the Penn Plax. Can't wait to reorganize my room now.

lol I love the first link. That is so simple. I wonder if one could be made out of plywood since I have so much of it not in use.

Yes it's okay to use plywood. If you look at the second page of the article it'll show the instructions on how to cut your plywood and where to place it.
