| | Moderator | Good morning. I've seen vitachem recommended at good bit and Garlic Gard as well. Both are supposed to be very beneficial for fish. I've never used them myself.

| | Fish Mentor | I don't use supplements. IMO super clean water and high quality foods are the way to go. |

vitachem is a great all around vitamin. There is a freshwater variety and a saltwater variety.
As was stated fresh clean water is most important of all but I have used Garlic and Vitachem. Mostly I use these with fry occasionally to give them a boost and a good start in life. Others use them frequently.

It doesn't need to be soppy but needs to have absorbed some. Because it's different they may not eat it at first so feed just a tiny bit to begin with.

| | Fish Bum | Thanks Butterfly. Today my little butterfly pleko died. I don't know why, my fiance said she saw it laying there. When I left the house it was still sucking on the glass... It wasn't injured... It just died! =( |

| | Moderator | The reason I ask, the first link is not really a pleco It is a hillstream loach and their needs are vastly different than plecos. This is one of the problems with common names. frequently fish are given names that describe them and they wind up with several common names. this one goes by butterfly pleco, borneo sucker among others.
Here are some beautiful pictures and some information http://www.loaches.com/species-index...ream%20loaches

These little fish are fascinating in the right environment. I encourage you to set up a tank just for them and get some more.
Here are some that I had several years ago |
