Possible Kenyi cichlid?>\

hi i bought what i think is a kenyi cichlid. but i dont know, he has a yellow spot on his anal fin and the pictures of kenyis that i look at dont.. and he blue in color. i hope it is a female because i like the blue color . do some kenyi cichlids have a yellow spot on their anal fin?

Like Shawnie said a lot of Africans Cichlids have egg spots on the anal fin.

Almost all mbuna do have a yellow egg spot on their anal fins. Can you post a pic of the kenyi?

Looks like some kind of Mbuna probably Kenyi. Looks really nice.

It is a kenyi. However to small to know if it will be a male or female. They don't change colors until they are well over 2 inch size and ready to spawn.

just wondering, i might add more fish in the tank, do they get along with other cichlids froom their same region . i have a 36 gallon tank.. and i wanted to put maybe 4 africans in it ( i have 1)

Yes you can do that just make sure you don't put more Mbunas or if you do put them all females so you don't get Hybrids in you tank.
