| Movin' on up... to a 55 Gallon! Hey guys,
I was on the forums a while ago and I had 2 baby King Kong Parrots. Poor guys were stuck in a 10 gallon, so I went out and bought a used 55 Gallon. I will be running a 200w Heater @ 82 Degrees and a Fluval 205 and a Fluval 303. I will put up some pictures after I have this thing set up tomorrow! The fish will have to stay in the 10'g for a week or so while I cycle the new tank! I'm so excited. I can't wait to get more fish! |

| I wonder if I can put an Arowana with my parrot. Probably about 4-5 inches long. |

| agreed. Arowanas need much larger aquariums, say around the 100gals. |

| Hello Simon. According to your aquarium profile information you are unaware of the nitrogen cycle. http://www.fishlore.com/NitrogenCycle.htm
If this is the case then the above link will be a great help to you.
Congrats on the new tank and fish. Will be looking forward to pictures.

| Congrats on the big 55 gallon tank. Have fun!
Please don't get the arowana. Personally I don't think it's even a fish that should be sold in pet shops. There may be a few people out there that have a home aquarium big enough for one to survive but I can't imagine how big a tank you would need to keep one happy. |

I figure only Hobbyists or fishkeepers who specifically want to keep an Arowana would keep them. |

| It seems like they should at least be a little harder to get. They (and many others IMO) should not be in a LFS where some unsuspecting person new to the hobby can pick one out because they are pretty, having no idea what they are getting into. |

| Well for Chinese people, they say that having one brings you luck or something like that, and if it does pass away that means it pretty much took a "bullet" for the owner or the household. |

| Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a Hagen powerhead model 70, in addition to my filtration system. Would you guys recommend anything else or is it even necessary to get it? |
